okay... you seriously crack me up. i love that it's her mom who is obsessed with blogging and not her! and i totally forgot to tell that you really have to try to make the fused plastic bags. you can use any plastic bags. i've done grocery sacks, target bags, and the skull bag was made out of the tall kitchen garbage bag (we use the kind that smell good, so that brought a little something special to the bag.) basically, you use about 6 layers of plastic per side of the bag. place the bags between layers of paper, and iron them on medium. the plastic will just melt together. then you can sew it together, or even fuse it together. you can make bags, wallets, pretty much anything. there are tons of tutorials out there, just google fused plastic tutorial, or email me and i'll send you some.
what ward are you in? that sounds like something my little sister needs to be apart of. she's looking for a place for next year. do you really like your ward?
