on thursday, i headed up a 2nd service project. this time with pizza and less pressure.  we had a great turnout.  i was competing with last week's closing social, a carnival complete with cotton candy, shish-kabobs, and 80-foot blow-up obstacle course.  i didn't know how i could expect people to come to zero decorations, 5-buck pizza, and yarn-made cat toys.  but goodness prevailed over materialism, and the hearts of my ward members were more inclined to persevere through 2 + 1/2 hours of toy-making.
