faithfully a hidden life.

"for the growing good of the world is partly dependent on unhistoric acts; and that things are not so ill with you and me as they might have been, is half owing to the number who lived faithfully a hidden life."
- George Eliot, Middlemarch, pg. 799

I'm reading Middlemarch, and loving more than I ever thought I would. I've held it in abeyance on my bookshelf 20 years or more, regarding it as an assignment for the well-read, and not numbering myself among them yet. But now, reading it, I think i will read it again. When you have a minute, go to gutenberg.org and read the Prelude. It will make you think for hours. . ., just like this quote you put up today. Can't wait to see you. Soon!
